In the first semester of their first year at Oxford, students apply for and join the Pierce Leadership Certificate program. Throughout their two years, these students move through the program as a cohort, attend regular meetings together, participate in service, and grow and develop as leaders. Together, they explore leadership principles work together as a team, and gain a deeper understanding of their own strengths and values. Upon graduation, those who have fulfilled the requirements will be awarded with the Pierce Leadership Certificate and a medal to wear with their cap and gown at Commencement.

Inside the Classroom

Learn about the power of leadership by enrolling in one of several courses taught by distinguished faculty. In these courses, you'll learn how leadership concepts and ideas are applied all around you.

Outside the Classroom

During your three semesters in the program, you will meet regularly with your cohort to discuss your experiences (in and outside the classroom) to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a leader. Put your new skills into action on- and off-campus. Apply for one of the many campus leadership positions. Learn why service is a core leadership component by completing service hours. Then, tell us about your experiences by creating your capstone project. Afterwards, keep this as a tool to assist you in preparing for your next leadership opportunity.
