


September 2009, Pete has begun his career with Oxford College as the Assistant Athletics Director-Facilities. Pete comes to Oxford from the Gwinnett Sports Commission, where he worked as the Sports Marketing Manager. Pete served as tournament director for events such as the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship and the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis National Championship, as well as creating collegiate golf events and several bicycle racing events in metro-Atlanta, including the Gwinnett Bike Fest, one of the southeast's biggest races. Pete brings over 10 years of event knowledge and sports management experience to Oxford, having worked with such organizations as the Atlantic Sun Conference, NCAA, Sunshine State Conference, USA Cycling, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and numerous National Governing Bodies.
Prior to his stint with the Gwinnett Sports Commission, Pete worked as the Orange County/City of Orlando Sports Marketing Manager from January 2002-September 2005, creating, implementing and supporting over 300 sporting events, including over 30 NCAA National and Regional Championships.
From February 1999 through June 2001, Pete served as the Game Operations Coordinator with RDV Sports, owners of the Orlando Magic.
His sports management career kicked off with the University of Central Florida, in their Athletics Marketing Department from August 1997 through February 1998.
Pete says, "Working on the collegiate events has always been his favorite and most rewarding, and is extremely excited to have this opportunity with the Oxford College community."
Education:
In 1998, Pete graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Sciences with a specialization in Sports Management.
Personal:
Sherrard was born in Rockledge, Florida, and currently lives in Lawrenceville with his wife, Robin and 2 ½ year old son, Logan.
