Board of Counselors Award2009 R. Carl Chandler Award Dean Murdy-R. Carl Chandler Award for a lifetime of leadership through service to Oxford College. Board chair Mayo Woodward 90Ox made the presentation. Zoe Hicks 63Ox, chair-elect of the BOC and chair of the science center committee, presenting a certificate of appreciation to Professor Emeritus Homer Sharp 56Ox. Certificate read: For exemplary commitment to science education at Oxford College in the past and for passionate vision for its enhancement in the future. She also presented the same certificate to Dr. Eloise Carter, science center project shepherd.

2008 R. Carl Chandler Award J. Max Austin Jr. 61Ox, 63C, 68MR of Birmingham, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was named the Margaret Cameron Spain Endowed Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology in October 2008. Max began as a resident at UAB in 1969 and moved up through the ranks of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, becoming associate director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in 1975. He left UAB to work in private practice, and then returned to UAB in 2000 as a professor and noted academic leader. He is married to Nancy Jane Musgrove Austin of Homerville, Georgia, his wife of 45 years. She is a 1961 graduate of Oxford College.

2007 R. Carl Chandler AwardJudge William Norton 42OX 48C 50L was the eleventh recipient of the R. Carl Chandler Award for a lifetime of leadership through service to Oxford College. He continues to be a valued supporter of Oxford and serves on the Board of Counselors. Earlier this year, Norton also received the 2007 J. Pollard Turman Award for his service to Emory through the alumni organizations, class programs, and other related groups. |

2006 R. Carl Chandler AwardDr. Judy Greer Professor Emeritus of Oxford College is the tenth recipient of the 2006 R. Carl Chandler Award for a lifetime of leadership through service to Oxford College. Dr. Greer was a professor of physical education and dance for almost 40 years before retiring in 1996. She continues to be valued supporter of Oxford and serves on the Board of Counselors. She lives in Oxford, Georgia and continues to stay in touch with Oxford and its alumni. |

Outstanding Staff Award
The Oxford College Alumni Association's Outstanding Staff Award is given to an Oxford College staff member, past or present, who has shown exceptional dedication, loyalty and service in his or her service to Oxford. They also appreciate the sense of community that Oxford offers.
Outstanding Teaching Award
The Oxford College Alumni Association's Outstanding Teaching Award is given to an Oxford College faculty member, past or present, who has imbued a love of learning, a mastery of the work, and a sense of community in the course of teaching at Oxford.
Outstanding Alumnus/a Award
The Oxford College Alumni Association's Outstanding Alumnus/a Award is given to an Oxford College alumnus/a who has shown exceptional dedication, loyalty and innovation in his or her service to Oxford.
Honorary Alumnus/a Award
The Oxford College Alumni Association's Honorary Alumnus/a Award is given to a person who did not graduate from Oxford College but who has shown exceptional dedication in his or her service to Oxford.
