Baccalaureate Service and Dinner - May 8, 2009

Old ChurchBaccalaureate Service
The interfaith Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8 at Old Church on Wesley Street. All students who choose to participate should assemble with cap and gown by 4:15 p.m. at Old Church.

Old Church is a three minute walk down Wesley Street on the left. Go two blocks past Haygood Hall. By car, go north on Emory Street (Highway 81), turn left on Fletcher Street. Follow Fletcher Street until it intersects with Wesley Street. Old Church will be directly in front of you; police officers will direct you to parking.

Dean's Baccalaureate Dinner
Immediately following the Baccalaureate Service all graduating students and their families are invited to dinner on the College Green with members of the Oxford faculty and staff. Registration for the dinner begins on April 17 and ends on May 1. There is a refundable reservation fee of $10.00 per person for dinner. Commencement Chief Marshal
Dr. Eloise B. Carter, Professor of Biology, is the Chief Marshal for Oxford's Commencement. Please listen and follow her instructions to ensure a smooth ceremony.

Lining Up
All graduating sophomores are to assemble with cap and gown by 9:00 a.m. in front of the library. You should be appropriately dressed. With your academic robes, women should wear dark or light skirts or dark pants and men should wear dark pants.

You will be lined up and given instructions when all are present. The procession will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Those students not in line will not march.
