Important Information for Parents
Most of the links found on the Student Financial Services homepage contain general information that is available to anyone. Emory University adheres to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) that provides students with privacy rights pertaining to their records. Access to specific, restricted information (i.e. grades or account balance) is only available through the Emory OPUS system, requiring an ID and password known to the student.
Payment Deadline
Payments for any semester are due approximately ten days before the official start of the term. If you are enrolling during the late registration period or drop/add session, payment is due on that day.
If you have financial aid that has not yet posted to your Opus account as "anticipated aid", you are still responsible for payment of tuition and fees. Once the financial aid posts to your account you may receive a refund if the aid exceeds the balance due. If you have a question about financial aid, refer to your financial aid "To Do List" in Opus or call the Oxford Financial Aid staff at 770-784-8328.
Withdrawal Policy
Refunds of tuition are only partial. A student may cancel registration through the seventh calendar day after the first day of classes, in which case the deposit and application fee are forfeited. After the last day for cancellation of registration, a student may withdraw from the college with the appropriate permission. The forfeiture for withdrawal increases progressively, but is not less than the forfeiture for cancellation.
