Students Say Good-bye to October with HalloweekNovember 03, 2009
Halloweek, a seven-day celebration of all things Halloween, concluded last Friday on the Oxford campus, topped by CarnEvil, an after-classes gathering on the quad. Events were coordinated by the Student Activities Committee with involvement from several student organizations, including Community Leadership Council, Volunteer Oxford, MED Club, French Club, OLÉ , Leadership Oxford, Live Artist Society, Omicron Phi Omega, Dooley's Dolls, Student Health, the chaplain's office, and Kappa Phi Nu. Activities for CarnEvil included carnival games, cookie decorating, Pin the Organ on the Skeleton, making decorations for residence hall doors, free snow-cones and cotton candy, reverse bobbing for apples, inflatable jumping structures, face painting, balloon animals, and a costume contest. It proved to be a great event not only for Oxford students, but also for a number of students from the city of Oxford's Palmer-Stone Elementary School.
