Wallace-Sanders to give virtual presentation on 'Framing Shadows'

Oxford College welcomes Kimberly Wallace-Sanders for a virtual presentation on "Framing Shadows, Framing Silences: African Americans in Domestic Portraiture" on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Wallace-Sanders, associate professor of American studies and African American studies at Emory, curated a "Framing Shadows" exhibition of about 20 photos from the 1840s to the 1920s that is currently on display in the Oxford College Library after being at Emory’s Woodruff Library. The exhibition encourages visitors to consider the lives of African American women, young girls, and men who spent years raising the children of white families.
