Wendy Rodriguez Martenson is an interdisciplinary professional whose career reflects the
breadth and impact of an Emory liberal arts education. Wendy’s professional experience spans
healthcare, research, medtech, higher education, and the creative industries. She is recognized
for her ability to combine visual storytelling, community engagement, and analytical insight to
create meaningful and accessible experiences across diverse fields.

Wendy currently serves as Assistant Director of Admission at Emory University, where she
leads recruitment initiatives for prospective students and families. In this role, she develops and
implements civic outreach efforts, collaborates with campus partners and students, and delivers
high-impact presentations that translate complex academic and policy information into clear,
engaging narratives. She also leads civic engagement initiatives within the admissions team,
with a particular focus on supporting first-generation students as they navigate the college
application process, ensuring they feel informed, empowered, and seen throughout their
journey. Her work is grounded in data-informed strategy, thoughtful communication, and the
coordination of large-scale events and campus experiences.

Beyond her work in higher education, Wendy is the founder of W Rodriguez Photography LLC,
where she works as a visual content creator specializing in branding, digital storytelling, and
event documentation. Since 2019, she has directed creative strategy and production for
corporate and small business clients, leveraging visual media to drive connection, engagement,
and growth.

Wendy holds a Master of Science in Law (cum laude) from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law
and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory College of Arts
and Sciences. Her interdisciplinary background equips her with both analytical rigor and
communication expertise, enabling her to navigate complex environments with clarity and
purpose.

A dedicated member of the Oxford and Newton County communities, Wendy is an engaged
alumna who contributes her time and leadership through new student orientation, Emory Cares,
student mentoring, Oxford reunions, and service on the MLK Scholarship selection committee.
Her deep connection to Oxford is evident in both her volunteerism and her advocacy, and she is
widely recognized for her enthusiasm in strengthening the college’s sense of community. Wendy
has often expressed how meaningful Oxford is to her and at one point even telling Tammy
Camfield that she “wishes she had attended Oxford herself”. Her passion for the college is well
known among students and colleagues, who frequently noted her enthusiasm for strengthening
Oxford’s community spirit.

Wendy is also an active civic leader in Newton County. She serves as a writer for Newton
Community Magazine, a board member of the Newton Education Foundation, and a member of
the Newton County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program Class of 2026, where she
contributes to initiatives that support local growth, education, and community engagement.
